Alcohol addiction

Once upon a time an alcohol addict went to a saint and said in a polite voice, 'Gurudev, I am very saddened by this alcohol addiction.  Because of this my house is getting destroyed.  My children are dying of hunger, but I cannot live without alcohol!  The peace of my house is destroyed.  Please tell me some simple solution, so that I can get peace of my home again. '  Gurudev said, 'When this addiction causes so much damage to you, why don't you leave it?'  The person said, 'gurudev, I want to give up alcohol, but it is so ingrained in my blood that I am not taking the name of giving up.'

Gurudev smiled and said, 'Tomorrow you come again!  I'll tell you how to give up alcohol? 'At certain time on the second day that person went to the Mahatma.  Seeing him, Mahatma stood up quickly and held a pole tightly.  When that person saw the Mahatma in this condition, he stood silent for some time, but even after a long time, Mahatma did not leave the pillar, he did not stop and asked him, 'Gurudev, you spent this pillar in vain  Why is he holding on? '  Gurudev said, 'Watts!  I have not held this pole, this pillar is holding my body.  I want it to leave me, but it is not leaving me at all. '  That person was surprised!

He said, 'Gurudev, I do drink alcohol, but I am not stupid.  You have deliberately held this pole tightly.  It is incessant, what will it catch you? If you are determined, then you can leave it right now.  Gurudev said, "I want to explain to you the immature man, this wine has not caught you in the same way as I was holding it, not the pillar, but the fact is that you have given the wine  Is held  You were saying that this wine is not leaving me.  While the truth is that you should make a firm determination in your mind that I have to give up this addiction right now, then at the same time your habit of drinking alcohol will be lost.

Every action of the body is controlled by the mind and as the will power prevails in the mind, the same thing succeeds. '  He was so impressed with this nectar of the drunken teacher that he at the same time determined to never drink alcohol in future.  Happiness returned to his home and he lived in peace.

In this way, we get the education that there is no addiction in life, which can not be left out after being accepted once.  If man wishes, he can sacrifice the greatest evil.
